On February 7th, 2013, Fitz and The Tantrums released what would be known as one of the top songs of the “2010s.” Ten years later, they continue to write, produce, tour, and play shows that are Out of my (fans) League. On January 31st, 2023, they hit the stage at the Admiral Theatre in Omaha, Nebraska. Combining new and old pop, Fitz and The Tantrums played a show that made your Hands Clap for all 23 songs.
Before Fitz and The Tantrums, rising pop-star out of L.A. Sammy Rash took the stage. His songs, widely viewed on TikTok and with millions of streams on Spotify, were loved by the audience and most sang along with them. Performing alongside Will Perryman, his long-time friend and DJ, the two play a chill-pop set that makes everyone want to hear more. What I loved most about their set was how they made it personal. They talked about their tour so far, travels as young artists, and how it was Sammy’s dads birthday- we even sang happy birthday on facetime to him!

After their set I was able to talk with Rash and Perryman for a minute before they went backstage to enjoy Fitz and The Tantrums. They made sure to reach out to the photographers and fans as much as they could and make connections with everyone, saying thank you and hugging everyone they met. They play a few more shows with Fitz this tour then are wanting to plan a headlining tour within the next year. As such young and rising artists, I would check them out and see them as soon as you can!

Once Fitz and The Tantrums went on, The Admiral Theatre was bouncing as people jumped and yelled along to the lyrics. They have been growing ever since Out of my League was released, with chart-topping songs such as Hand Clap, Moneymaker, and Sway. Their newest album, Let Yourself Free, was a hit among the younger crowd but they made sure to vary between new and old hits throughout the show. An extremely engaging set, they had lights up on phones, waving hands in the air, and sing-alongs like 123456. There wasn’t a song that the whole crowd wasn’t into.

Fitz and The Tantrums are wrapping up their tour mid-february in Florida. After that, they are playing a few festival sets before breaking. Whether they continue writing or playing, Fitz and The Tantrums will always be legends in my mind. I had the best time seeing them live and would highly recommend checking them out if they come to a city near you!
